The Italian Yacht Design Conference returns for its fifth edition on December 15 in the \ u2019 as part of the initiatives of the Master in Yacht Design of the Politecnico di Milano. Like many other events of the year it will be online on the Zoom platform. A necessity, but also an opportunity to follow a debate that takes its cue. from a new vision, for a good part of the market, of the boat that
has
rediscovered its true essence as a place of familiar and friendly intimacy. The focal point in the next edition will be: how can the design of the new ones change boats in this changed scenario? Large boats are already, very often, made with layouts that enhance privacy and the separation of paths between owner, guests and crew, according to a scheme that sometimes appears even excessive . The whole mid-range is probably the one in which there will be
some
significant changes, always poised between the rediscovered desire for charter and family use. The two designers invited to participate are Mario Pedol of Nauta, whose activity ranges from small sizes up to giga yachts, and Enrico Lumini of HotLab who in recent times has dealt with the issue of high quality and serial size boats. The industrial sector is represented by Giovanni Pomati of Nautor \ u2019s Swan and Federico Rossi of Rossinavi. Like every year, the conference is curated and moderated by Andrea Ratti of the Politecnico di Milano and the journalist Antonio Vettese.
