InFYnito
The Boot in Düsseldorf is undoubtedly a privileged showcase for the presentation of the most important product innovations destined to sail our seas as early as the 2023/2024 nautical season. But it's also an opportunity to anticipate what's brewing in the design offices and shipyard sheds. And in some cases the previews, albeit in the form of drawings, renderings and "declarations of intent" are capable of arousing even more attention than the finished products that are ready to sail immediately.
This is the case of Ferretti, which in Düsseldorf presented the project for the new InFYnito line, inspired by explorer vessels and dedicated to boats from 70 to 100 feet (21-30 metres) which will complement the current flybridge range. More specifically, the Ferretti InFYnito 90 project was presented in the spotlight at the German show, a 27-metre long yacht (26.97 to be precise) with a maximum beam of 7.33 which will be launched in 2023 and presented in September at the Cannes Yacht Festival.
The number 1 model of the new range is therefore still being worked on, but the characteristics illustrated at the German show already make it a star of our best Made in Italy. Indeed, in the plans there is the intention of making it a yacht capable of enhancing the link with sea and sky, creating an indissoluble contact with the surrounding environment, to the point of creating a visual continuity between inside and outside capable of connecting as never before the boat and the horizon. In practice, a view without limits, at 360 degrees. And it is precisely on this basis that the name InFYnito was chosen, with the two capital letters representing the initials of the shipyard (Ferretti Yachts).
To this basic choice must be added the introduction of FSEA (Ferretti Sustainable Enhanced Architecture) technology, a package of solutions for sailing with the utmost respect for the environment. Among the most significant, a Solar roof capable of generating electricity for recharging a lithium battery pack dedicated to on-board services, and green materials such as ecological paints, sustainable teak, flax fiber panels, recycled fabrics and leathers. The Hotel Mode stands out, a technology that will make it possible to create an atmosphere of absolute relaxation in all environments with zero emissions, thanks to the use of a dedicated lithium battery pack.
The engine, on the other hand, remains of the traditional type, entrusted to a pair of MAN V12 engines (up to 1800 hp) capable - according to preliminary data - of propelling the boat to a maximum speed of 22 knots and cruising at 17 knots. During the presentation, however, the top management of the shipyard specified that "thanks to the new high-efficiency hull, the InFYnito will be able to reach a range of 1,200 nautical miles at an economical cruising speed of 12 knots". A traditional way to contain consumption and emissions in any case.
The main innovation, as mentioned, concerns the creation of visual continuity between inside and outside: a basic choice born from the collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari, the Engineering Department of the Ferretti Group and the curators of the exterior design and of the interior.
The style of the hull (sober, clean, balanced) was signed by the architect Filippo Salvetti, while the interior design was entrusted to the Design Ideaeitalia studio, which focused on the concept of "just like home", i.e. on the ability of indoor environments to make the owner and his guests feel as if they were at home, a home very close to the sea and overlooking a limitless panorama.
With over 100 square meters of areas dedicated to outdoor living (almost 50% more than the segment average) and over 140 square meters of internal spaces (more than 25% more than the average), including a main deck and a skylounge with particularly significant volumes, Ferretti's new yacht therefore stands out as a prominent novelty in the panorama of great Made in Italy yachting.
For now, no advances have been provided on the number of cabins for owner, guests and crew. On the other hand, the announced possibility of choosing between different layouts for each deck is in line with the trend of the moment, ranging between open space areas and more formal environments dedicated to day and night privacy, "for an experience that can be completely customized according to one's needs".
Advanced design, comfort and flexibility are some of the key words that explain the InFYnito project, a yacht that was defined during its presentation in Düsseldorf as “capable of revealing itself as an exceptional residence on the sea, of reserving five-star hospitality for guests and ensure spaces dedicated to wellness and maximum conviviality even while sailing".
