A design yacht inspired by Native American mythology, here is the concept that makes all nautical enthusiasts dream...
We are talking about Wakíŋyaŋ, the latest work by designer Aras Kazar. The boat in question, obviously, has not yet seen its realization in "flesh and blood", as they say in these cases, but its first images released through the official profiles of the Turkish artist were enough ( because here we are still talking about art) to send all fans of the genre into raptures.
The concept in question also takes up some of the focal points of Kazar's work. Sinuous and sharp lines, long-limbed developments (apart from a few other boats in the range), and an aesthetic devoted hands and feet to pure minimalism. In fact, in the bodywork of the designer's works, there are no excessive hems, weighting of any kind and dissonances of a chromatic or physical/materialistic nature.
At the basis of Kazar's entire work there seems to be precisely the most total cleanliness of the design; cleanliness is found to be a prerogative of Wakíŋyaŋ as well. Drawing and words, in fact here has to represent a fundamental part of the project is its own 'title'. A word that seems to come to us from afar, and in fact…
Wakíŋyaŋ a word that originates in the mythology of the Native American Lakota tribe; this, also known as "thunderbird" or "winged thunder", represents a gigantic bird of prey with an extraordinary wingspan. And it was precisely this last feature that inspired the Turkish designer in the creation of this utopian concept in no uncertain terms.
The sinuous shapes of this boat, although to the 'common' eye they may recall those of an arrowhead, which would not detach the discussion so much from the Native American tradition, are a sort of historical tracing of the silhouette of the homonymous mythological animal. But mythology aside, what interests us is the boat itself, now more than ever.
So all we have to do is begin to delve into this sensational design yacht in the true sense of the word, bringing to the surface all the secrets and the most hidden details. Here, then, is the trimaran that is literally driving shipowners and boating enthusiasts crazy…
The curiosity that brings more curious people, however, is linked precisely to the structure of Wakíŋyaŋ. In fact, we are talking about a particular architecture that manages to make the yacht practically invisible, or almost invisible. Furthermore, the glazing that surrounds the boat at 360° not only creates this sort of image play, but above all manages to offer a complete view of the sea for those inside the vessel.
The interior lighting is also affected, in a positive sense, by such a solution. In fact, the windows guarantee natural light an entrance without any kind of problem. The only annoyance, if we can define it that way, which makes Wakíŋyaŋ's invisibility trend useless is represented by the superstructure. This, in fact, is tinted with a particular bright white capable of making useless the contribution of the tempered glass windows.
Furthermore, the interiors of this yacht reveal a vessel completely devoted to luxury and a super exclusive style. In fact, in this place we find a swimming pool and a spa positioned at the stern; but then also five luxurious guest cabins, a master suite and crew cabins. The white of the superstructure also returns to the interiors, these decorated with a chromatic scale in light tones, ranging from brilliant white to beige.
On the other hand, as regards the motorization topic, a very hot topic these days (almost hot); Wakíŋyaŋ presents itself as a perfect vessel for the future, being equipped with all-electric technology and hydrofoil capable of reaching a maximum speed of as much as 32 knots.
