V Marine presents the new range of boats of the brand owned by the giant Azimut/Benetti at the Festival in the Capital. Among the innovative ideas, the reduction of consumption and emissions and the use of new materials (cork instead of teak, nylon and fishing nets but also recycled plastic bottles)
At Rom-E, the sustainability festival which was held in a widespread manner in the center of the Italian capital, there was also the nautical field. V Marine, official reseller of Azimut Yachts, the brand of the giant Azimut/Benetti, the world's leading superyacht manufacturer, presented the new sustainable materials designed for the Seadeck vessel, a new series of boats that change the approach of boating to the sea . More "kind", more "aware", more in line with nature than it already was. And of course, more environmentally friendly.
Large open spaces, continuity between stern, cockpit, saloon-lounge, opening windows for design. And then the reduction of consumption, through an increasingly efficient hull and a lighter boat, which sees the use of carbon fiber for 40% of the surface of the boat, and not just for all of the superstructures. And again, the Volvo Penta Ips Pod propulsion system, which features an inboard engine credited with high performance. Added to this is the reduction of emissions, as well as noise, which translates into a saving of 40% of CO2 in a year of average use. It is achieved with the Volvo Full Hybrid propulsion system, which guarantees zero emissions in "hotel mode", i.e. at anchor (from 4 to 8 hours), when maneuvering and in short-range navigation - thanks to electric power. And again, with the use of solar panels, with an intelligent energy "recovery" system and management of on-board energy consumption. The thermal heat generated by the engine is used to produce hot water.
Last but not least, the use of a wide range of natural, recycled and recyclable materials. V Marine presented the use of nylon and fishing nets for interiors and furnishings, polythene polymers or recycled bottles for the bulkheads (on the 60 foot model the use of 15,000 bottles is expected). Cork to replace teak.
