The new Silent 62 catamaran recently launched by Silent Yachts was powered by new, more efficient electric motors with greater operational autonomy.

The Austrian shipyard has also equipped the new solar electric catamaran model with a new water-cooled battery characterized by greater capacity and energy density.

Yachts benefit from even faster charging speeds, thanks to optimized thermal management of the cells. Some other key features of the new water-cooled battery include extended life with over 3,500 charging cycles. The batteries are certified by DNV-GL and Lloyd's Register. A watertight IP65 rating, together with an autonomous monitoring and extinguishing system, ensures the highest levels of safety on board.

This cutting-edge transmission is based on automotive standards and gives owners and guests the ability to travel the world faster whenever they want.

With an efficiency of approximately 96%, the new electric motors offer maximum efficiency across the entire operating range currently available on the market. This is achieved by leveraging the latest synchronous reluctance-assisted permanent magnet (SRPM) technology. The extremely compact and robust structure of the motors is protected by an IP65 enclosure to maximize reliability.

The new drivetrain also features all-carbon propellers shaped like underwater propellers. This innovative design eliminates vibration and noise, ensuring unprecedented efficiency and silent sailing on the water.
